August 31st, 2016:  ADOPTED BY THE ANGELS  – RIP
This handsome older fella came to us after receiving a call that an emaciated Boxer was in need of help.  A Good Samaritan had seen him for over a month, roaming the streets of the Watts neighborhood in Los Angeles, scrounging for food and water.  She was finally able to find someone to take him home temporarily until a rescue could be found for him, and now he’s in our care with #TeamLCAL!  We estimate him to be approximately 10-11 years young.  Upon initial lab work from the veterinarian team, there is nothing substantial found on his medical intake to explain why he is so emaciated (other than perhaps being starved).  In fact, his lab work looks pretty good for an old guy that looks to be in pretty bad shape.  We do know that he is deaf … and his eyesight is a little impaired.   He’s currently in a foster home with other dogs, getting a few square meals a day, a soft doggie bed, and he’s going in again the week of July 23rd for another review with the vet to compare his blood work again.  His foster family says he is potty trained, knows how to “shake,” he’s quiet, sleeps a lot, and actually hops up and greets them with JOY when they come home from work.  We are unsure how much life is left in him, but we’re committed to seeing that whatever time he has, it’s going to be nothing short of amazing!  Watson would love a home that is calm and quiet, no large flights of stairs for him to navigate, a person to rub his ears every day and give him the love (and endless treats) that he wishes for and so deserves!
