Please use this “CONTACT US” form for general questions, and a volunteer team member will get back to you, generally within 48 hours. The majority of our team members are volunteers and have full-time jobs, so we thank you in advance for your patience in the time it may take for someone to respond.
If you need to talk to us about surrendering/re-homing a dog that you adopted from our rescue, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can help you. Once an LCAL dog, always an LCAL dog, so we will do our best to support you in being able to keep your LCAL alumni, or we will always take our dogs back and find them new homes.
Our focus is to save dogs from high-kill shelters, and due to the high need at those shelters at this time, we are currently unable to accept owner surrenders into our rescue. If you have a dog that you need to surrender or rehome, we recommend contacting your local humane society or animal control for help.
Please be advised that animals with dog and/or human aggression/behaviors are likely to be euthanized in a shelter setting. If you have a dog that is fighting with other dogs, has bitten/growled at someone, or is not getting along with kids/others in the home, please google a trainer/behaviorist to assist you. You can click HERE to be routed to the SD Humane Society’s page about training referrals.
