Elsa

Breed: Shepherd mix
Age: 5 years
Size: 86lbs but needs to lose 15-20 lbs; medium-framed shepherd
Health: Healthy, spayed

Ideal Match: Loving home with proper boundaries, and not too active

Personality:

Elsa is curious, calm, sweet, has good manners, and she is obsessed with the ball. She is pretty much a dream dog and our volunteers can’t get enough of this girl! She likes to hang out and loves to receive love and pets. She’s great on a leash and has the medium energy of a mature dog.

Elsa was surrendered by her owner after a move. The surrender notes state: house-trained; knows sit/down; enjoys riding in cars; enjoys bathing/grooming; likes to wade; loves to play fetch; medium energy. This all seems accurate from what we know of this girl. She’d make a great addition to any home with proper boundaries.

Elsa has a benign lump on her front foot due to reactive tissue secondary to trauma. Because of this she has a limp and should not run, spin, etc., on it too much. Best exercise for her would be one or two thirty minute walks a day and maybe some water play at the beach or in a pool if she enjoys it.

Elsa is dog selective and has done well with a couple of dogs at our rescue that are closer to her size. She is not the right match for a home with small dogs.
