Ideal Match: A home that will exercise and train this fun girl appropriately

Personality:

Jewels is a petite, saucy and energetic boxer girl and a whole lot of fun!

She has only been in our care since April 1st. She initially went to a quiet foster home since she was recently spayed and began her crate training and basic obedience training. Once healed she went to a foster home with other large dogs and a pig. She LOVES her big dog foster brothers and sister but isn’t so sure about the pig HA!  She is interested in meeting the tiny 4-pound chihuahua but her energy level is mach 5 so she hasn’t been allowed to play with the little one quite yet. Would likely be best in a home with no small animals.

She is happy, loving, energetic, and friendly/playful with other big dogs. Did we mention energetic?

She is perfectly crate trained and will run right in when you say “kennel up” because she knows either a meal is being served or she is getting a yummy treat before nap time. She settles nicely at night and even if she does let out a few whimpers a firm “No” is all it takes for her to settle in for the night.

She follows her foster friend outside to go potty and has not had an accident in the house so she will be easy to transfer her house training no matter where she goes.

Her leash training is going well and she already understands sit and wait at doors and thresholds.

She was likely not introduced to many people during her formative training stages and when on leash is nervous and fearful of strangers. For this reason she would likely do best in a home with children older than 10 at least until she progresses with her training. If she is allowed to meet new people and dogs with her calm foster brother Raylan she takes his cues and is all love and wiggles.
