Toby is a white German shepherd puppy who came to us from Animal Friends of the Valleys as an owner turn in. He is a tad shy at first but warms up quickly and is a happy and friendly boy. He rode well in the vehicle when transported to us from the shelter.  

Toby’s former family described him as a great dog who loves spending time with people. He is housetrained and he knows Sit.

Toby has gone through a lot the last several weeks and is nervous about the outside world. He needs a capable handler that will help him build confidence. He can be a little wary of new people if approached directly and prefers to make the introductions himself. In new surroundings or with a change in routine, he is unsure of himself and will need someone who can show quiet confidence to show him the way. If he knows you’re in control, he will be able to relax and enjoy the dog life, and will focus on giving you all of his love.

Toby would do well with another dog in the home to show him the ropes and that the world isn’t so scary, after all. Due to Toby’s insecurities, if there are children in the home they should be 12+.
