Volunteer Application
Thank you for your interest in helping the dogs of LCAL! There are three main ways to help our rescue: as a long-term or short-term foster, as a thrift store volunteer, or as a rescue volunteer.
1. Fostering. We are a foster-based rescue, so foster families are the heroes that allow us to help dogs in need. Short-term fosters that can occasionally help dog-sit when a foster is out of town also are a big help. We provide all the food and supplies for our fosters—you just provide the love and teach them about home life. If you are interested in fostering, please fill out the Foster Application instead of this Volunteer Application.
2. Thrift Store Volunteer. The thrift store is the primary reason we are able to save the dogs that we do, so helping there has a huge impact for our rescue. Thrift store volunteers help with sorting, pricing, and more. Thrift store volunteers complete a video orientation and quiz, then one training at the store. The volunteer commitment is minimum 4 hours a month.
3. Rescue Volunteers. Our Rescue Volunteers receive emails with volunteer opportunities such as for transport or events, and they sign up when their schedule permits. Rescue Volunteers can also help in a specific capacity such as photography or social media. These volunteers complete basic orientation, and then are added to our volunteer list.
**Please note that, at this time, our organization is unable to accommodate court-required community service.**
